The ethos of Hexhamshire Huts is simply to create a relaxing environment where you can wind down in comfort. Your rural retreat in our luxury shepherds hut, close to Hadrian's Wall and directly on Cycle Route 72, provides everything you need to have a staycation, escaping from your everyday life.
With a fire ready made for you (let us know if you want it lighting before arrival!) and optional locally sourced breakfast basket, we hope you'll feel straight at home.
Your hut was lovingly built in Northumberland, utilising local and sustainable products throughout. We hope you love it as much as we do!
About us...
Hexhamshire Huts sits on our small holding, 20 minutes walk from Hexham and directly on Cycle Route 72. Two minutes by car from the A69 and only 1.5miles from Hexham train station.
We have chickens which you may hear clucking away providing you with fresh eggs for breakfast, horses and rabbits. (We ask kindly that you don't feed our animals - they are well fed already!)

Horse accommodation available
If you are looking for a short break in a rural location where you can bring your horse, look no further!
We offer a stable for your horse (no grass grazing provided) to be comfortably stabled whilst you stay. You are free to explore the local hacking on our doorstep and bridlepaths with your 4 legged horsey friend.
We also offer exclusive use of our 15mx20m outdoor arena.
*horse transportation must fit under an 11ft bridge* (most trailers fit, but horse boxes do not)

Welcome to Hexhamshire Huts! We (James & Gillian) look forward to welcoming you to stay in our luxury shepherds hut. We embarked upon our journey back in 2020 and made the leap to move to a rural farmhouse and small holding. Since then we have had a bespoke built luxury hut to sit within one of our paddocks. We are dedicated to creating a relaxing environment in which you can come and unwind and explore beautiful Northumberland. We aim to use local business to support our adventure and sustainable products.
Important bits and bobs...
Sorry but dogs are not permitted.
We have a two night minimum stay on weekend bookings in the Summer months - please contact us directly if you require a one night weekend stay and we will do what we can to accommodate your request.
Accessibility: there is space to park your car on site, and the pod is accessed a few metres away over a gravel path. Winter weather can be challenging, please contact us if any concerns.
Mobile phone signal: this is usually pretty good at the hut. The hosts (James & Gillian) live on site and are happy to be contacted during your stay.
Health & Safety: emergency first aid kit with basic provisions, fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector
Recycling: recycling is important to us all, please use the appropriate bin provided to separate your waste.
